Isthmus Eye Care Contact Lenses

Isthmus Eye Contact LensesAt Isthmus Eye Care, we utilize the latest technology and highest quality contact lenses and fit them to your personalized prescription and lifestyle needs. All of our contact lens fittings in Madison, WI come with a doctor’s consultation including education on wear and care of the lenses and necessary trial lenses. For patients new to contact lenses, we teach and demonstrate lens insertion and removal, as well as instruct you on how to clean and replace contact lenses.

When your contact lens fitting and evaluation is complete, we want you to purchase your contact lenses from us with confidence. If you rip or lose a contact lens, we will give you a replacement lens at no additional cost (some specialty lenses excluded). If your prescription changes or lenses become intolerable, we will reimburse you for any unopened, unmarked boxes of contact lenses that you have purchased from Isthmus Eye Care within a year of your last exam.

Soft Daily Disposable Contact Lenses

Daily disposable contact lenses are single-use lenses that are removed and discarded at the end of each day so you get a fresh pair of lenses every day. Single use contact lenses are now available in a wide range of prescriptions including astigmatism and multifocal lenses. The more frequently you replace your lenses, the healthier and more comfortable your eyes can be. Protein, calcium, lipids and other substances found naturally in your tears can build up on your lenses. These deposits make your contacts less comfortable and can also make your eyes more prone to infection.

Astigmatism Contact Lenses

Uncorrected astigmatism can cause eyestrain and fatigue—not to mention poor vision. Our stable and thin toric contact lenses are designed to provide comfort and consistent clarity of vision to our patients with astigmatism.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

Decrease your dependance on reading glasses with multifocal contact lenses! These specialty lenses are designed to correct both distance and near vision within the same lens. Multifocal contact lenses make it possible for patients who need a bifocal, or have separate distance and near prescriptions, to see everything from up-close reading, to intermediate computer work, and street signs while driving.

Colored Contact Lenses

Colored lenses are available in a wide variety of natural and vivid colors. They are a great way to change your look and are available in many prescriptions as well as for those patients who don't need correction to see clearly.

Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses

Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) lenses offer optimum lens life and excellent visual clarity. RGP contact lenses are made of firm plastic that still allows oxygen to reach the eye. These lenses are available in specialty designs for astigmatism and multifocal visual needs. RGP’s are also used to manage some eye conditions like Keratoconus.

Contact Lens Solutions

It may seem that all contact lens solutions are the same, but they are very different. Each brand of contact lens solution contains unique ingredients that can interact with contact lenses, the eye’s surface, or tears, which affect both the cleanliness and comfort of the lenses. Consult your Isthmus Eye Care doctor to determine which type of solution is best for you.

Concerned About Contact Lens Waste in Madison, WI?

While contact lenses and blister packs can’t be easily recycled locally, they can be collected and periodically sent to TerraCycle for recycling. You can bring your contact lens waste to Isthmus Eye Care and we will recycle them for you. The One by One contact lens recycling program accepts all brands of soft contact lenses and foil/plastic blister packs for recycling. The cardboard box packaging can simply be recycled with your municipal pick up. The program will make a $1 donation to Optometry Giving Sight for every pound of accepted packaging.
